Privacy Policy
Firn is designed to keep your journal private. The app stores journal information locally on your device and does not operate a backend service for your journal data.
Summary
Firn stores symptom entries, period entries, medication and supplement records, notes, profile and report name, and settings locally on your device. Firn does not require an account and does not operate a backend service for your journal data.
Data Stored In The App
Firn stores the information you choose to enter, including symptoms, severity ratings, period flow, notes, medications and supplements, menopause stage, report name, and app settings.
This information is stored locally on your device using Apple platform storage.
Data We Do Not Collect From The App
Firn does not collect your in-app health journal data. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share your symptom logs, period history, medication and supplement records, notes, report contents, or exported data.
Firn does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, telemetry, tracking pixels, or third-party runtime SDKs.
Because journal data is processed on device and is not sent to Firn, Firn does not collect app data for App Store privacy details while this offline architecture remains unchanged.
Accounts And Cloud Sync
Firn does not require an account and does not sync your journal to a Firn server.
Device Backups
Depending on your device settings, Apple iCloud Backup or device backups may include Firn app data. Firn does not control Apple's backup services. You can manage iCloud Backup in your iPhone settings.
Exporting And Sharing
Firn lets you export your data as JSON or CSV and generate reports. Exports happen only when you choose to create or share them.
Once you share an export or report with another app, service, person, or clinician, that recipient's privacy practices apply.
Deletion
You can delete Firn data in the app using Delete All Data. You can also delete the app from your device. Firn cannot recover deleted journal data.
Device backups may retain older copies according to your Apple backup settings.
Support Email
If you contact support, we will receive the email address you use and the contents of your message. We use support messages only to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, and improve Firn.
Please do not include sensitive health information in support messages unless it is necessary for your request. The app itself does not automatically send support diagnostics, logs, analytics, or journal data.
We retain support emails for up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed to resolve an issue, comply with law, or protect our rights.
TestFlight And App Store Feedback
If you submit TestFlight feedback, crash reports, screenshots, or App Store reviews through Apple, Apple may provide that feedback to the developer. This is separate from Firn's in-app data storage.
Payments
If you purchase Firn through the App Store, payment is processed by Apple. Firn does not receive your payment card details.
Your Rights
Firn does not operate an account system or backend journal database, so Firn cannot access, correct, export, or delete journal data stored on your device. You can manage that data in the app using export and deletion controls.

Medical Disclaimer
Firn is a personal journal. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, medication recommendations, dosage calculations, interaction checks, or contraindication warnings.
Children
Firn is not directed to children. It is intended as a personal journal for people tracking their own symptoms and related context.
Changes
If Firn's privacy model changes, this policy will be updated before those changes are represented in App Store privacy details.
